Miss Pam ![]() Acclaimed fellow writer Pamela Des Barres is working on a new book. One of music's greatest super-groupies, Miss Pam experienced 60's and 70's music scene like few others, and broke new ground in the industry with her own group, the GTO's - Girls Together Outrageously. She married a rock star and had a son, Nicholas, and set the music world on its ear with her book, "I'm with the band." This frank and refreshing kiss-and-tell-all book bars no holds and gives us a look into a world most of us can barely imagine. It was a best-seller, and is currenly in reprint in the United States. If you haven't picked it up, do. Try as they might claim, nobody will ever equal the rock and roll life Miss Pam has lived. Remember the movie "The Banger Sisters"? That movie was based on the escapades of Miss Pam and her friend who lived those heady days with her. The new book will take a look at modern day groupies with the same unwavering eye. With the unprecedented glitz and debauchery of 80's metal, I'm sure there will be no shortage of stories to tell. Those were fast and furious days, a whirlwind of arena rock tours, with hair and spandex flying everywhere. The 80's took the anthem of sex, drugs, and rock and roll to wild new heights, leaving in its wake wild tales of fans and frolic. If you'r a groupie with a REAL tale to tell, drop Miss Pamela a line. I'm sure she'd love to hear your story and consider it for her new book. If you know somebody who's a wannabe fraud, you might want to drop her a line and tell her that, too. Not to be a vindictive snitch, but so that she can protect herself from printing stories that aren't true. She would probably be grateful for the warning. I'm sure Miss Pam's no dummy. She's got the resources and the foresight to check her sources before she puts anything in print. If it really happened, we'll read about it in Pam's next book. If it didn't happen, well, I guess we'll keep reading it on blogs along with all the other fan fiction.
