The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nominating committee is discussing the potential nominees for 2005 induction. Apart from sure-shot U2, some of the artists eligible for the first time include Iron Maiden, Bryan Adams, Pat Benatar, Def Leppard and Simple Minds. Step aside, everyone.

LEPCON SUCCESS!!
According to the Lepcon official site, the event was a great success!
They have pictures up from day one of Lepcon, the Rick Allen meet and greet at the Hard Rock Cafe in Vegas.

Here's hoping Mr. Richie gets better promotion for the tune than Def Leppard did, should he decide to release it as a single.

Happy Birthday Savage Passion!
Five years ago today, Savage Passion was created on a whim.
Since then, this no-lust, no-flame group has grown to be the largest Def Leppard Yahoo group on the web.
There have been highs and lows, to be sure, but the group has withstood it all, strengthened by the warmth, friendship, and character of the greatest bunch of fans you'll find anywhere.

Sav and Joe rocked Sheffield last night for charity.
According to Sheffield Today
| "...frontman Joe Elliot and bass player Rick Savage rocked Sheffield City Hall with their amazing accoustic versions as a duet for one night only at the Sincereley Sheffield charity concert last night. Def Leppard frontman Joe said: "I'd come back to do this again, of course. It's my home city and we want to help. Bev has been a saint and John Reilly has been amazing.'' He added: "It's always a great thrill to play here at the City Hall. This was the big venue where I saw all my first concerts and big names in the 1970s. "I remember chalking on the side of the wall that we would one day play here - and we headlined in 1980. "But it's more terrifying here than playing in front of 80,000 people. When you can see the white of their eyes in the audience, there's nothing to hide behind.'' Rick joked: "Did I miss the rest of the band with just us two on stage tonight? You bet I did.When I looked over my shoulder and saw Joe on guitar I felt totally naked in front of 2,000 people!" They also gave the 2,000 crowd Leppard hits Two Steps Behind, From The Inside and When Love and Hate Collide. |

SUMMER TOUR?
There have been rumors around various sites about Def Leppard possibly co-headlining with KISS next summer.
While I would be delighted to see Def Leppard next summer, it is the general policy at Sav.net not to delve into rumor.
This webmaster would be as delighted as the next person to see Def Leppard tour again so soon, but my suggestion is that we all wait and see what the OFFICIAL word is before we get too worked up about it.
When there are facts to share, I'll post them.
In the meantime, the best source of official information is DefLeppard.com.

A thousand thanks to Knightrise for posting the Clip of Slang in Argentina! Not just the part of Joe dancing with the fans, but the whole song!
Look for Sav to jump up and down in the beginning, and look look for him to snap his fingers and set off like he might actually dance! The camera doesn't follow him off to the left, but it looks like he might!

Hillsborough will be hosting a superb night of family entertainment with the Fireworks Spectacular event on 2 November. Tickets are available now from all SWFC ticket outlets.

the event, which is family orientated, will include entertainment from fire-eaters, stilt-walkers on the pitch, a children's fancy dress competition, and musical numbers from "Grease" along with refreshments on the night.
The evening's fireworks show, choreographed to Disney music, is not to be missed.
This sounds like the kind of evening any Sheffield family (perhaps a prodigal rock star wednesday fan?) should love to attend. Sav would have to hurry to leave, though, since the band perform in Frankfurt, Germany the next day.

Site Updates
There have been a lot of updates and tweaks to Sav.net over the past couple of weeks or so. Some of them are obvious, like the addition of the facts page - which includes Sav's bio, a fact sheet about his equpment, a discography and quotes. There has also been the addition of ringtones to the Multimedia page.
And, finally, after much aggrivation, I've finally been able to archive the older guestbook entries to make room for some new ones. There have been so many charming, enlightening entries to the Sav.net guestbook since it began - I can hardly wait to see what pops up there next.
There are also dozens of tweaks that affect the way Sav.net works and appears, but might not be so noticeable.
Obvious or not, I hope all the efforts are helping to make Sav.net an enjoyable place for fans to visit.
